How to use FL Studio 20, 12?

FL Studio.
FL Studio.

In FL Studio, you can download tools and samples, play them in real time or add notes to you manually, write down the external sounds and reproduce the entire mix back via the mixer by adding the necessary effects. The completed project in FL Studio can be exported to .wav, .mp3 or .ogg audio files.

Main windows FL Studio

The FL Studio desktop is presented by several windows, most of which are movable (with overlapping) scalable and switchable, therefore, if some window cannot be seen, open it using the quick access panel or hot keys specified in brackets below.

The main windows involved in creating Music FL Studio are:

  • Channel Rack (Tool Stand) - (F6)
  • Piano Roll (Pianaroll) - (F7)
  • Mixer. (mixer) - (F9)
  • PlayList. (playlist) - (F5)
  • Browser. (Browser) - (Alt + F8) is used to access audio files, plugins and presets in FL Studio.
If you need to reset the position parameters of all windows in FL Studio, press Ctrl + SHIFT + H (or see the "View" menu settings.
If you need to reset the position parameters of all windows in FL Studio, press Ctrl + SHIFT + H (or see the "View" menu settings.

Channel Rack - This is a panel with tools (plugins) that create sound, as well as with sound generators. All patterns have access to all tools in Channel Rack.

Tools in FL Studio are usually divided into two types:

  • Software synthesizers that create sound with the help of an internal "engine";
  • Samplers of samples that reproduce "audio recordings" (drums and drum and other samples).

There are several ways to download a new tool in Channel Rack:

  • Open Plugin Picker (F8), then drag the plugin to the area at the beginning of the selected playlist track. The playlist track and the first empty track of the mixer will be called automatically, and the plugin will be redirected to this mixer path. You can also double-click on the plugin in Picker or drag it to Channel Rack.
  • Drag the plugin or samples from the browser from the browser to the mixer track. You can also put it on Channel Rack and plugin will be directed to the Master Mixer track.
  • Use the Add Channel button at the bottom of the Channel Rack window.
  • Use the Add menu (Add).

To replace the existing tool channel, right-click on the channel button and select "Replace>" on the pop-up menu.

In FL Studio, the samples and patterns can also be dragged from Browser. in playlist. When dragging the sample to the playlist, the Audio Clip tool is immediately added to the channel window. Alternatively, you can click on the sample in the browser right-click and "send" it to the selected tool in the appearing list.

Essay and editing

Music notes and chords In FL Studio, you can play "live" using the controller keyboard or enter manually in the window Piano Roll (opens by clicking right mouse button on the channel button) or use the default Step Sequencer. To launch drum samples.

On the Channel Rack panel to the right of each tool button, it is either the display of STEP sequencer (rows of squares), or a mini-preview of Piano Roll (green lines). New Tools in FL Studio begin with default from an empty STEP SEQUENCER pattern.

Step Sequencer is activated by clicking the left mouse button on the squares, and it turns off with the right mouse button. To activate Piano Roll, click on the left mouse button along the mini-preview window.
Step Sequencer is activated by clicking the left mouse button on the squares, and it turns off with the right mouse button. To activate Piano Roll, click on the left mouse button along the mini-preview window.

To add notes to Piano Roll it is convenient to use a pencil. With it, you can draw notes of the required size. When stretching the square, the mouse cursor up / down changes the height, and the change of notes to the right increases the duration of the sound. Created "Tiles" form patterns.

Piano Roll

When editing patterns in FL Studio, make sure that you are in Pattern mode so that when you press playback, it is the selected pattern. To change patterns, move up / down, while holding down the left mouse button on the corresponding indicator switch.

PlayList. (playlist) in FL Studio sequentially reproduces all project elements to create a final composition. The playlist window is a stack of multipurpose "clip tracks" in which pattern clips, audio clips and automation clips can be placed.

Unlike many other sequencers, the playlist tracks are not tied to any tool, audio recordings or even type of clip. You can place any type of clip anywhere and even impose clips to each other. When the playback pointer reaches a specific clip, FL Studio loses everything that contains the clip.

Clip tracks in the playlist can be called, painted, moved up / down or "off". To make changes, right-click on the name at the beginning of each track.
Clip tracks in the playlist can be called, painted, moved up / down or "off". To make changes, right-click on the name at the beginning of each track.

When playing, make sure that you are in Song Mode, so that FL Studio loses the playlist patterns, and not the selected pattern. Also, to play the pattern / playlist, you can use the buttons to play in the upper part of the channel window and playlist.

In FL Studio, the sound from each channel is sent to one of the mixer tracks to add effects (reverb, delay, etc.) and level installation. Mixer. It is also a place where "external" sound from a microphone, guitar or synthesizer can be recorded with "internal" tools. The recorded sound is shown in the playlist in the form of an audio clip.

You can set the "destination" track of the mixer track using the switch to the left of the channel button. This switch is also available in the channel tool settings (gear icon).

In FL Studio, the clip tracks in the playlist are not tied to the tracks of a mixer, and the Channel Rack> Mixer route determines the mixer tracks to be used. Consequently, the tool channels are tied to the tracks of a mixer, and not to the tracks of the playlist. For example, 1 Pattern clip on 1 track of the playlist can run each Channel Rack tool and, therefore, all the tracks of the mixer if they were directed accordingly.

Export audio in FL Studio

The final mix is exported from FL Studio in .wav, .mp3 or .ogg formats by selecting the export option in the File menu. This process goes to offline mode and is called rendering.

Export audio in FL Studio
Export audio in FL Studio

If you want to create an audio CD, you need to renderate into 16-bit 44.1 kHz files in the .wav format. FL Studio does not record CDs, so it will be necessary to use a third-party application.

Today I want to tell about what major techniques are used when creating musical works in the FL Studio program. I am writing music and use various tools for its processing, including products from the company Image-Line ("FL Studio" and "Deckadance"), and in her

Power Users List.

(In this list, I am the only musician from Russia). In this topic, I will talk about how to use the healing (on the example of percussion parties and vocals), as well as how to prepare recorded vocals for subsequent processing.

This technique is often used by musical producers. It was so that musical producers in Russia are essentially managers of artists, in the rest of the world producers are people who create music in the so-called sequencers (music programs for creating music). For example, Lady Gaga, even if it can write songs, cannot create the final product itself and the most producers helps it with it. One of the most famous producers who worked with it is Redone.

So, let's go back to the layering. This technique is used to make the full sound of any of your tools, as well as the track as a whole. It is most often used when creating a party of drum and vocal parties. First consider the laying on the example of the drum part.

Healing when creating percussion parties.

I am writing acoustic and electronic music using the library of pre-selected samples. Such libraries contain sounds recorded in a professional studio, which is not always available from novice musicians and producers. An example of such sounds can be one blow in that barrel, cotton in your hands, percussion drum and other similar things. Such libraries can be easily found in free access or on sale on the Internet. They are called "One Shot Samples" or "One Shot Libraries".

Also justified the use of previously recorded shock loops. They usually represent already full and ready-made versions of drums and can be broken into parts (for example, barrels separately, plates separately, percussions separately, tambourines separately), and if you fold them together, you will get a full-fledged percussion. They are called "Drum Loops" and in large quantities are presented on the Internet. Among other things, there are many programs with ready-made drum libraries, the bright example of which are "XLN Audio Addictive Drums", "Spectrasonics Stylermx", "Native Instruments Machine" and others.

Consider the laying of basic barrels ("Kick") on the figure below. In order to get a rich and tight sound of the barrels, I use three different variations. Studio dense barrel (Studio Kick), acoustic barrel sample from the ready-made drum (Acoustic Kick) and electronic generated barrel (Electronic Kick).

Each of these barrels has its own sound, but together they begin to sound much more dense than separately. When combining various drums, it must be borne in mind that they may not be combined together, so sometimes it is necessary to expose them to equalize them. In the figure below, low bass frequencies are removed from one of the barrels (left), and it creates a so-called cotton or click in the upper frequency range, and another focus is made to low frequencies, and it fills the bass component.

When combining shock, composed of "One Shot" -Sames, you can use programs like "Native Instruments Battery" or "Image-Line FPC". There you can set the volume of each of the tools, disseminate them by panorama. The figure below shows 3 barrels combined in the same image "Image-Line FPC" software.

In addition, the musical producing frequently use the layering of already ready-made batches of shock loops. In my musical practice, I use both of these approaches, namely: I myself am a part of the strike of the drums from "One Shot" -SEmplov, and the part of the drums, selected by me from special libraries or programs. Under the example below, 6 levels of shock, compiled by me (3 levels of barrels, one cotton, closed plates and metal percussions) are highlighted in green (3 levels of barrels), as well as 4 levels of ready-made shock loops, painted blue. Together, they constitute a complete shock game of the song used in the chorus. Such an integrated approach allows you to get a more complete drum sound.

Work with vocal

Initial processing of vocals.

Consider the processing of vocals at the initial stage, and then we will talk about the layering of vocals. Naturally, the first thing vocals need to record. To do this, I use the "Edison" plugin embedded in FL Studio. To record vocals, you need to select the incoming channel to which your microphone is connected, and then add the "EDISON" plug to the same channel, set the "NOW" and "IN NEW PROJECT" switches, after clicking the write button and write your vocals (all indicated In the pictures below).

Do not rush to keep vocals immediately after it is recorded. First you need to get rid of unnecessary noise that usually gives your microphone, wires, audio card, as well as sound sources indoors. To do this, try to silend a little after the record of vocals, thereby leaving a small area from which the noise generated during the recording can be considered. Then select this plot and open the "Clean Up Tool", as shown in the picture below.

Then the plugin will need to make up the so-called "noise map", which he will exclude from your vocal. To do this, click the "Acquire Noise Profile" button.

Then close the "Clean Up Tool" to highlight the entire vocals that you recorded, open the "Clean Up Tool" again (green areas will be marked where the largest noise has been registered), set the "Amount" value in the middle and click "Accept".

Then (in the Edison window) you will see and hear that your vocals clearly cleared.

Now we will analyze how to remove from your vocal too loud consonants "C" and "Z". In production, this process is called "de-essing". DE-ESSING can be performed using plugins (for example, "Avox Sybil" or "Fabfilter Pro-C"), but this process can be carried out manually. This is relevant because many DE-ESSING plugins are still treated and thus distort all your vocals, and not only consonants, and to leave the other parts of your entry intact, you can use the "manual" approach.

To do this, download your vocals in Edison. Switching to the spectral view (as shown below):

... You will see the loud sounds of "C" and "Z" (marked in the figure below):

Then select one of the sections to "Edison", where the consonants are arranged and open "Equalize", there you will see this site in more detail. Usually ringing consonants are located in the range from 5K to 15K. Cut these frequencies, set "Mix" by about 50% and press "Accept" (all indicated in the picture below).

Next, you need to do this procedure with all the ringing consonants "C" and "s". You can also go with loud breaths, only the equalization will need to be the entire frequency range (essentially just make them quieter).

Healing when creating vocal parties.

Now consider the reception of the layering, which can and should be used when creating vocal parties. All famous backing vocals are, in fact, there is a layering. However, there are several different approaches in this issue.

The first approach is that you invite back vocalists, or fulfill your own tags. The advantages of this approach are obvious, the real voice is not yet possible to replace anything. Cons: You will need both a record studio and good back vocalists. Next, the recorded vocals is added to the leading vocal without an accurate fit in time (that is, the vocals may sound a little speed, but not strongly).

The second approach is that you can use programs like "Antares AutoTune" or "Image-Line Pitcher" to create harmonic back vocals, having only one major vocal batch. In short, I will describe the process of creating these becks.

First you need to record the main vocal batch (the so-called "LEAD VOCAL"). Then to process it (about the processing of vocals it will be a little lower) and imported to FL Studio. Then you need to send vocals to the effects channel, where Pitcher is located, as shown below.

In Pitcher, you must set the following indicators: Enable the "MIDI" button (when you turn on this button in the lower left corner the port number will appear, it must be remembered), and the "Harmonize" button. You can also set the "REPLACE-MIX" switch to one of two positions. The "REPLACE" position completely removes the main vocal and leaves only the harmonica generated by the plugin. It is not difficult to guess, the MIX position leaves your vocals, and the generated harmonics.

Then you need to add "MIDI OUT" to the tools, and in its settings, specify the port that was previously listed in the lower left corner of the Pitcher.

Then, opening "Piano Roll", you can set harmonics to generate (plugin). You need to specify notes that the plugin will generate on the basis of your main vocal, and put them in time so that they coincide with the main vocals and create the right harmonics, for example, as indicated in the picture below.

The advantages of this approach are in the simplicity and speed of creating harmonics, as well as the fact that these harmonics will accurately copy your vocals, so it will not have to customize it for a long time in the mixture. Well, the main minus of this approach is the sound of these bets. No matter how cool, but get rid of the synthesized sound will not work.

The third path lies in combining both approaches. Even having only one vocalist (in my case it is me myself) you can get big, complete and realistic vocal parties. All you need is using the method described above to create suitable harmonics. Then you need to remember how your harmonics sound. To understand and hear how only harmonics sounds, in the Pitcher program you need to set the switch to the "REPLACE" and remember the sound of harmonic, and then try to reproduce them yourself. At first, it may be unusual to sing such back-vocals, because you need to sing them as exactly as much as possible and try to remove excess expression and "walking" from our vocal on notes. If you do not get into the notes in any moment, you can adjust your backing vocals in Celemony Melodyne Editor programs or "Image-Line Newtone". Real vocals, even extremely treated with these plug-ins, will still sound more realistic than the generated harmonics.

It is clear that the more layers of back-vocals, the more fully the vocal party sounds. But it is important to remember that every time you cannot sing equally, and sometimes one phrase will sound longer than the other, etc. Therefore, backing vocals need to be placed exactly in accordance with your leading vocals (as indicated in the picture below).

As can be seen, every back-vocal is fitted to others and to lead vocals. If this is not done, the vocal party will fully sound like a mess. Sometimes, I use up to 10 layers of vocals (for example, when creating a choir in a song), and therefore for me it is doubly relevant. I hope my tips will be useful for you. The results of how I myself use these techniques, you can listen to my

, and you can take

In my campaign on Indiegogo - do not consider the rude advertising and thanks for your attention!

Lesson 1. Create your first music track. Quickly and simple.

Greetings you friends! This is the first lesson on creating music on a computer and I will not torment you the theory for a long time, we will immediately proceed to practice and make Your first soundtrack . Many schools initially offer to learn a touch letter, get acquainted with Solfeggio, and very often in the lessons are written long entry into music theory ... This is, of course, all very important But I have a completely different method. I think you need to try the tool immediately, feel his sound, Feel the first delight! It will warm up interest, provoke the desire to work and learn further. And then you can already gradually, little by little to do theory. If the student is initially loaded the theory, then it can easily have the abyss of interest and desire Learning music . Therefore, I will not write with complex and incomprehensible expressions for a long time, but I will try to tell you the most clearly and simple words, how to create music on a computer . For this you already have to be installed FL Studio. 10 or another version. If not installed, we read this article. This lesson is exclusively for novice musicians (Trajectory music from scratch ). If you are no longer new, then you can go to a more serious section - it's here. And are you ready? Let's go !!!

FL Studio-Toolbar

Open the FL Studio program. And the first thing to pay attention to is Toolbar (Tool Bar). By the way, check if you have all the panels. Right-click on the empty plane (in the figure indicated by a red dot).

All these buttons may come in handy later, and now we will work with Window panel (collapsed red) and on top I signed hotkeys (F5, F6, F7, F8, F9) to quickly call these windows.

Press key F6 And we have Step Sequencer. (Step-by-step sequencer), in the picture is angry yellow, in fact, now we need only in order to See workers tools , Tools that we will use in our FL project. And by default, only 4 tools are downloaded - in this case These are drum samples : Kick. - This is a big drum (in the people called "barrel"), Clap - it's cotton Hat. - Plate, Snare. - Small drum. This is enough to make the simplest rhythm of the drummers (shock tools). Therefore, we will not pull the cat ... and quickly sketch a simple bit 4 × 4.

To do this, click F7. Window opens Keys editor (Piano Roll). And we put 4 notes (see the picture) opposite the C5 key.

C5 is a note before - this is the main central note, so desirable drums build on this line, otherwise they may not naturally sound. Then we need to choose cotton, it can be done in Step Sequencer ( F6 ), but it is possible even easier - At the top of Piano Roll Click the mouse button on the word Kick (this is our active drum) and select the CLAP in the drop-down list (as on the picture from above). Now put two cotton notes. Pressing the gap, you can listen to what we did.

So we yourself We write music from scratch . Moving further, choose the HAT sample and write 4 sheet music sheets, as in the figure below.

The meaning is that the plates will alternate with the drum and such a combination will task dance rhythm. You can listen by pressing the gap. Already not bad, is it not true !!? Already a mood appears.

Press key F5. - Appears PlayList. (playlist).

I think it would be nice immediately in the first lesson to understand Essence of arrangement . So the arrangement is created in the PlayList window. Just created by a party of drums, now we need to place them as a separate layer in the arrangement window (i.e. in Playlist). Click on the very first track (Track 1 - Track 1), here's such Tassel (As in the figure, this tassel will instead of the mouse cursor). If the menu drops - choose the Pattern 1, and we put our first drummate - more precisely, it is 1 closed arrangement tact! Hurrah! What can I congratulate you

Then you can simply hold, as a brush, from 2 to 8 tact, and we have 8 prescribed clocks, and these are already intended 14 seconds of music . It is incredible!., But the fact :) you will succeed :)

But now We need bass ! If drums are a rhythmic basics of music, then Bass - This is a tone base of music, and without it, the track will simply lose power and charisma. Therefore, we will create a bass as follows. First we need to choose the step sequencer ( F6 ), then, on any button (for example, Snare), click the right key, and in the drop-down list, select " Insert> Boobass "

Attention , Important moment, Now we need to choose second pattern - it will be Second layer of arrangement , After all, the bass may sound separate from the drums at different stages of the development of music. So we go to the toolbar Tool Bar. and, clamping the left mouse button, drag the digit 1On the figure 2.

Now we are on the second pattern and then draw the notes of the bass in Piano Roll F7. , We put the notes (as in the figure below), fill 4 tact. A4 is a note la, F4 - FA, G4 - salt, who plays a guitar with this decoding already familiar;) and pay attention to the bottom of the bottom Vertical Salad Dashs - this is the volume of notes In this case, let them make them higher (routing) so that the bass sounds stronger and confident.

The next step will be again PlayList, click F5. And now the tassel is now on the second track (Track 2) for the entire length of 8 clocks.

If we press the gap, then you will hear how our bass line sounds to listen to the whole arrangement - you need to switch to Song mode On the Tool Bar pane (see Figure).

I remind you, the subject of the lesson: writing music from scratch for beginners. Purpose: learn how to create your track on a computer quickly and simple.

The basis of music is ready, but it is only the basis, then you need to enrich the music Party string . Immediately set Pattern 3. After all, the string is a separate layer of arrangement. Then in Step Sequencer F6 And as well as we inserted Boobass, now insert, for example, Wasp synthesizer . we Create a simple soundtrack on a computer And so I decided to use a simple WASP synthesizer. In each plugin there is a square in the upper left corner, click the mouse and choose PRESETS> Padfatwsaws. - This is a pad similar to the sound of strings, although with a slight cosmic tint. Well, and the better for creating electronic music .

Next, we write this harmony on 4 Takta. In the tonality of la-minor (see the drawing below).

FL-Pianoroll04.Go to PlayList ( F5. ) And add Pattern 3. On the third track (Track 3). Click the gap, listen. Wasp sounds somehow greatly loud to all the music, so it is necessary to reduce the sound for WASP. Open STEP SEQ ( F6 ) and left from the PadfatWSAWS button Turn the volume knob . Since the strings are not the main track melody, then the sound should be somewhere on the background, everyone can adjust to their taste, I left the volume on 42% . By the way, the percentage of volume can be viewed on indicator Under the main menu of Froth Loupes (see pictures).

we Learning to create music on PC and our composition already sounds very nice, but for a full-fledged arrangement lacks Melodies . Switched on 4 patterns, F6 in the sequencer insert a new synth, I chose Simsynth (Preset> Default), default settings. Open Piano Roll ( F7. ). It came to mind simple, but very Spectacular sequence (Sequence, by the way, call any motive written in a sequencer, as a rule, this is something not complicated and repeated). Let's try this motive to put on our music.

We look at the notes in the figure and see that the first 3 tact of the motive is repeated, and on the fourth changes on the basis of bass. This is Power of music ! When, according to the laws of harmony, the notes are connected in chords, but we will talk about it later, and now simply copy notes.

We write music from scratch in Fl Studio. Lessons for beginners.

Click Play and listen. All ingenious just! You can say so. Well, at least for the first track in FL Studio. - It turned out very well. Then you can develop music by other tools, add impact, transitions, specials. Effects. But this is the topic for other lessons. I hope you could understandable and simple way to show Basics of creating music in FL Studio .

And also on our website ... in every article. In each lesson. Can Download * .flp file (This is a file that can be opened in Flstudio), in which you can see all the notes, the structure of the arrangement and, of course, listen to music. In this way, there will be a lot of easier and more convenient Learn to create music . Therefore, I suggest you Download FL Project this lesson .

If you have any problems, you can download the Internet " FL Studio manual in Russian »Where all the buttons and light bulbs are painted in great detail, and their all kinds of purpose. And also write questions in the comments, as they say ... than I can, it will help!

In this lesson, we will look at one class method, where we learn how to quickly and unmistakably write a melody and chords in FL Studio 12. This method is well suited to a novice musician. And perhaps some have already seen it on other resources. But still I decided to show it to you, as it is surprisingly easy to use and most in my opinion the best.

This method is to use ghostly notes, which is present in FL Studio features in Piano Roll.

The method of writing melody and chords in FL Studio 12.

First of all, we will need to download a regular sampler in our step-by-step sequencer (you can simply add none).

Write a melody and chords in FL Studio 12

After that, let's go to Piano Roll And everything will be configured. Now we need to decide which tonality we will write our minus in Minor or Major. In this example, I will show in Minor as now basically all the musicians use chords in Minor. To do this, press the button from above called Stamp. (in the lane in the Russian stamp) and choose MINOR NATURAL (AEOLIAN) .

Write a melody and chords in FL Studio 12

Next, we define the initial notew. In my case it will be La (a) , exhibit notes.

Write a melody and chords in FL Studio 12

Now we need to duplicate these notes for 2 octaves higher and lower. Well, it depends on what range you will use notes. To duplicate them just highlight already having notes (Ctrl + A) And clamping the key Shift. Drag them a little to the side. Now let go Shift. And the left key is dragging the top and down the same principle.

Now we highlight all the notes and lengthen the values you need. I think 8 clocks will be quite normal. Notice, you can lengthen them as you please, I just demonstrate.

Write a melody and chords in FL Studio 12

Now in the same pattern, you load the VSTI tool on which we will prescribe our main melody with chords and move on to Piano Roll. Clear key combination (Alt + V) To see the ghostly notes if they are not displayed.

Ghost notes and chords in FL Studio 12

Now make up chords using these ghost notes. I exhibit notes through one ghost note since notes La (A5) . Look at the drawing below.

Write a melody and chords in FL Studio 12

We had a simple sober chord. Next, our hands are unleashed and we can continue to write chords using steps. Total 7 steps on a new mill. In our case, this is a la, si, to, re, mi, Fa Diez, Salt Diez (all bright ghostly notes). As a result, we move along these steps and make a chord.

It all depends on your imagination. Also, do not forget that you can transpose chord by changing the notes to the octave below or higher, as I did after 5 clock on the notes C7, E7, D7, D7. To do this, you can highlight the note and clamping the Ctrl key and the upward energway move them to the octave up or down. It is necessary to create a more interesting sound of a chord.

See what I did.

Compilation of chords in FL Studio 12

Now we can add another VSTI tool that will play on our legitimate chords used in the instrument. Try to memorize the chords that you used, but in the extreme case you can always see them. But remember that not all notes from the available tonality notes will sound well, so use mostly notes that are present in the main melody. See what happened below.

Write a melody and chords in FL Studio 12

After they prescribed all notes and chords in the tools, you can delete our Sampler and further scat out our tools on patterns. To do this, go to the pattern where you are spelled out chords and in the Patterns top menu, click Split by Channel. After that, all your tools in order are distributed over the patterns in the playlist. And they can be placed in the playlist.

Split by Channel (divided by tools)

Listen to what happened. Of course here I changed it a little, but you can see all changes in the project that can be downloaded by reference below.

The method of writing melody and chords in FL Studio 12 without ghost music.

In the latest Updates, FL Studio has such a function where there is no need to create ghost notes. When you turn on it, it will be necessary to prescribe notes on light lines on a music lot in advance by choosing in which venerer make chords. To activate this feature, simply go to the Piano Roll - Helpers - Scale Highlighting menu and select what the key to make notes from the Scale category drop-down list and from which Root Note note.

Writing melody and chords in FL Studio 12.

After that, you in Piano roll will be highlighted by the need for writing chords.

That's all.

As you can see anything difficult in creating chords in FL Studio. Of course, the slightest errors in the tonality will arise, but following these rules, in the future you can avoid them. And it is better to get better just work on more and study more materials on this topic.

If you want to download the FLP project that was written here. And on this while everything. If you have questions, ask in the comments or discuss them on the forum along with other participants.

How to use FL Studio 12

Date: 05.12.2017 23:20 | By Pavel Wallen | Category:

How to use FL Studio 12

The most important thing now for novice users is not to go into some details or "chips" FL Studio 12 ...

... The most important thing is to look correctly for the program and refer to its elements - it is this guarantee of successful circulation at the "Pro" level with this sequencer.

And everything here is very simple and does not take much time and energy:

Let's directly visually divide the program on its logical components and then forever captured a convenient chain of their interaction and how they work on the implementation of our ideas in cohesion.

1. Main menu FL Studio

First of all, we have the main menu, now you need to understand only that it contains not absolutely all the possibilities of the sequencer, but only that. that the developers considered it necessary to control exactly from the line menus.

Remember that this menu we will be tightened to the least, oddly enough and that, only at the beginning and at the end of work in FL Studio 12. Since many useful features are located in a faster and logical-friendly location in the sequencer interface ...

So, this section is the main menu that we usually use to work with the current or not current project:

  • opening,
  • preservation,
  • Export track or project data
  • Edit FL Studio settings or its interface.

And mentally assign this window labels "Start and Completion" in FL Studio 12, since this role is essentially leading in the interpretation of this section.

The most important thing is that you need to remember here, that is, the most important team of this menu is to save the project, or the combination of fast hot keys Ctrl + S, it will need to be harder in any other program!

2. Home Panel FL Studio 12

This is the heart of all teams in the FL Studio sequencer. We remember that here we climb for global manipulation in the project.

For example, open all the main organs in Fruity Loops Studio 12, such as:

  • Piano Roll,
  • PlayList,
  • Mixer,
  • Browser files,
  • Channel panel,

Also the overall volume of the project playback, playback buttons, records, the most useful quick features and commands + monitoring of the playback of audio and responsible resources of your PC; Everything here, on this panel mentally hanging the label of "global manipulations in the project."

3. Browser files in FL Studio 12

In the FL Studio sequencer, a very convenient file browser. It is located in the left part of the sequencer, if it is not default, and you do not see it, then simply click here on the icon on the FL Studio main panel (on the icon just selected a similar way to the directory and folder browser).

If he does not appear after that, then you just have a rolled position. In order to deploy it, you just need to bring the mouse cursor to the left edge of the entire FL Studio window and grip while the cursor does not change your appearance to the two-way arrows (left-right). And then pull the browser on the right side.

So, before us browser FL studio. It contains in itself a huge number of files of different extensions, which can somehow be used in different instances of the FL Studio sequencer.

And we are hanging on it now mentally a label of a large file database, by type of presets for plugins, plug-ins themselves, audio samples of automation schedules, MIDI files and more piles of total useful for consumption by sequencer!

4. Channel Rack in Fruity Loops Studio

This is roughly speaking, the toolbar, and it is default in the upper right side of the screen.

Opens and closes with a button on the main panel with the image of 3 horizontal planks. If suddenly we lost her.

All the tools for creating sound and music are collected in this panel. Generators. Sound (as synthesizers and samplers, audio clips and samples, which contain a single audio file, as well as clips of automation, what it is we are Pogim later).

Also within each unit (that is, the channel) of this panel we prescribe a party and sequence from MIDI data - that is, roughly speaking notes.

This we do directly with the help of such a tool as Piano Roll, which is the next in line in this logical chain of the working principle of the FL Studio sequencer.

And we hang the label on this panel. The area of tools generating (i.e. creating) and modulating (that is, changing) sound. And mostly here we work with tools - we prescribe parties on them. We sort them, add and remove them, modulation.

5. Piano Roll in FL Studio

Piano Roll opens similar to it the right button on the main panel FL Studio 12

Piano Roll tool of any sequencer, with which we prescribe these parties in the form of MIDI data or notes for the above-mentioned channels with tools, with the ability to automate the set of main audio-parameters.

And of course, all this is most convenient in the musical sense; With the help of the vertically located keyboard, from low notes before, logical, high. Only 11 octave.

In order to properly and logically collect the whole structure later, Here we hang a label - "New Mall", or then the workspace, where we create what will perform every tool in our composition on the channel panel. In general, this is a tool for implementing melodies, rhythmic batches and chord sequences.

6. PlayList in Sequencers FL Studio 12

PlayList opens with an icon on the main panel FL Studio 12 in the form of three horizontal towering on the height of the planks.

And the playlist understand very simple. If Piano Roll is a space and a batch creation area for one or more channels, the playlist is a global space where we use larger songs and arrangements - like petterna with prescribed just in Piano Roll parties, audio data by itself, as WAV and MP3 files and samples. Clips of automation.

And all this space exists to create a full-fledged composition and arrangements from a variety of parties and tools.

Here we mentally hang this kind of label: the creation of a full-fledged arrangement and composition pattern. Work with entire parties, audio and automation clips. Roughly speaking, here we already create our music as a full-fledged composition and track from everything that we have created in patterns or what stored from the samples.

7. FL Studio Mixer

The mixer opens the icon in the form of two faders on the FL Studio main panel.

And many of this is a familiar type of device that creates one record from Multitreka collecting it on the Master track.

The mixer is needed in order to create a parameter control area (the level of panorama, stereo beam) and an individual or group processing area of each individual arrangement unit (tool. Audio track or one sample).

This processing will be needed for different purposes. But now it is important to introduce a perspective that the mixer is a tool that allows you to skip each tool composition or multitrek through its individual processing, with the help of plug-ins type effects. which form their category of plugins, there are even more in FL Studio than the plugins of generators, sound.

And the plug-in effects do not create and do not generate sound by themselves - they only handle, anyway already existing sound, simply speaking, here we will process tools for arrangement, improve analysis. And music information.

8. Plugin Picker

In the latest versions of FL Studio, the developers took care of the rapid access to users to plugins inside the sequencer by creating such a tool in FL Studio as Plugin Picker.

You can open it with a button in the form of a "plug" on the fast panel FL Studio, or the easiest way to click on the wheel of the mouse over the empty desktop studio.

Here, more logical visually more interesting is that all that we have in a browser in a folder called the database of the plug-ins in the browser, just know that it is using a picker plugin in most convenient way to reach any plagne6nov - whether tools are generators or processing effects.

Now summarize all the above and passed.

1. B. Main menu, To begin with, we set up a sequencer for yourself in an undefined project, using all kinds of FL Studio parameter control functions, then in the same menu we create a new project and somehow designated, for example, for yourself its name we save it.

2. Then by setting the desired tempo to our project on Main panel FL Studio We will start creating ...

3. And we will begin to create with the help of adding new plugins on Channel panel (through the method convenient for you - either plugin picker, or almost a dozen alternative ways of which will be described) as well as adding samples or other audio data from the FL Studio browser either, even Windows (that FL Studio will certainly allow directly on the channel panel, Either immediately on the playlist (in the case of the audio in the WAV and MP3 formats) that it will create automatically audio clip with with this file on the channel panel, since in the remove in itself there is nothing to exist.

4. Inside this channel panel, we prescribe a party using such a tool as Piano Roll . To give a tool a characteristic role in the future composition and arrangement of the track.

5. All this after we seal in a certain sequence on PlayList. In the form of the Patten sequence or audio clips, which means the mini batch of samples or other audio data themselves, we can prescribe not only in the piano roll on a specific channel, but also immediately on the remove.

6. In order to improve, convert or reduce the sound together, we skip grouping, in general we carry out tools and audio data in the form of samples and audio clips through tracks Mixer (or by itself the mixer tool).

7. All of this certainly and irreversibly we work and use the shortest bodies of management over all this in Main panel FL Studio, which also heads all this harmonious interface.

The order and type of location of all tools is not important - you can position all this as you like and these settings will be saved. For location, everything is done as conveniently as possible and practical here - the default function of magnetic windows is included, so once and for all you can arrange all this for yourself in a logical sequence, it is more logical for me ...

It is necessary to understand about the entire workspace of the sequencer and also the fact that all this, as usual, can be collapsed, deploy, of course, close and + to the entire window mode and full-screen mode.

Here in principle and all =)
